About Giving Tuesday

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past ten years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.


On Earth Day, we officially launched Root Local with an aim to provide a network for individuals and organizations to engage deeper in conservation work. In August, we received our 501c3 status.


In our role as a backbone organization, we will support this network in creating a collective environmental impact plan that will serve as a guide for our metro Atlanta region. But we can’t do it without you.


It is our mission to uplift community voices and engage in deeper sector discussion. We invite you to help us reach our goal of ensuring a more sustainable future through our mission of collective environmental impact.
